It is envisaged that there will be a number of programmes established, using tried and tested models, and developing new initiatives to enable participants to grow their talents and become independent and self-sufficient.
A successful social enterprise is an entity that balances the social mission of the organisation and improving the productivity of the community to ensure its long-term sustainability.
The foundation of a society starts in the early developmental years of a child. “Children's early experiences – the bonds they form with their parents and their first learning experiences – deeply affect their future physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.”
Focusing on creating opportunities for young people to find employment, develop skills that they can “sell’ and become entrepreneurs, SnAPSA will assist local communities to develop structures to build their own capacity to support their young people over time.
SnAPSA will be offering training to those in the mainstream services to sensitize them to the needs of the poor and those at risk. This training helps to sensitize service providers to understand the needs of the vulnerable population groups, and those in need.
SnAPSA will work to empower and encourage individuals to take action to improve their position and deal with their rights as humans in society.
Supporting the growth of a community centre for learning will be a project that will be activated and grown into a space for skills development. The day to day activities within the centre will be to provide classes and mentorship to the community members so they can develop the skills to make a living.
Once SnAPSA is up and running the aim is to provide direct prevention services, to the communities we work in, for the prevention of HIV infection, the provision of preventative and education programmes relating to HIV/AIDS and other infectious (TB/STIs/Hepatitis) diseases and non-communicable diseases (Hypertension / Diabetes, etc.)
SnAPSA will commence with outreach work within the community to motivate prevention of HIV/STIs/TB and other preventable diseases.
