Community Upliftment work
Our Vision For Community Upliftment work

SnAPSA will be offering training to those in the mainstream services to sensitize them to the needs of the poor and those at risk.  This training helps to sensitize service providers to understand the needs of the vulnerable population groups, and those in need.  It will help them to better provide sensitive care to people already marginalized in society and the communities they work in.

Other form of support to service providers will include interventions that prevent and deal with Burnout and Compassion Fatigue.

These being one of the most debilitating occupational risk for social, community and health workers.

Community Development for poor and needy persons and anti-poverty initiatives
SnAPSA

Will work with community members to develop initiatives that will support the community members into the future.  These will include the following activities

  • Create an ongoing skill set (knitting, sewing, vegetable gardening, baking, general handyman or painting skills, etc)
  • Hold training sessions in a central community centre
  • Ensure adequate child care facilities for participants especially teenage mothers
  • Integrate critical skills such as financial, project management and computer skills to ensure sustainability
  • Generate a mechanism to provide the equipment and materials needed to support the initiatives
  • Establish grass roots organisations to support the growth of the projects/initiatives run by local community members
  • Train and develop community members to be able to run and manage the grass root organisations
